Chattahoochee Alumna Inducted Into Georgia Lacrosse Hall of Fame
Haley Marvine Hardy, Chattahoochee High School Class of 2007, was inducted into the Georgia Lacrosse Hall of Fame on January 31, 2021. Hardy already has a storied athletic career of setting records as a goalkeeper in the last 18 years since she was a freshman at Chattahoochee. While there, she garnered numerous accolades for the Cougars where she was a two-time captain and a four-year varsity letterman and was named Defensive Player of the Year as a freshman. Additional awards include First Team All-Northside by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, First Team All-American by U.S. Lacrosse, 2007 North Fulton County Prep Player of the Year, a twice GHSA All-State player among others. She is also a member of the Chattahoochee High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Haley went on to attend the University of Cincinnati (UC) where she played on the first Bearcats lacrosse team and became a four-year letter winner, team captain, Big East Honor Roll choice as the Bearcats' goalie and set a record six times.
Her professional career began as Head Coach at Transylvania University in Kentucky for the Pioneers followed by serving as the first women’s lacrosse Head Coach for the Radford University Highlanders in Virginia. There she coached nine Big South All-Conference selections as well as five All-Academic honorees. In June 2021, Haley returned to her alma mater as the Assistant Coach of women’s lacrosse of the Bearcats focusing primarily on recruiting, defense and goalkeepers.
In her statement prior to being inducted, she attributed some of her success to her high school coaches. Current Chattahoochee Chair of the P.E. department, JJ Hicks, said, “We are very proud of her accomplishments.”
