Centegix Alert Badge Reminder!
All full-time FCS staff members are receiving a Centegix CrisisAlert badge that allows them to summon help during an emergency. By clicking three times only, immediate assistance can be requested for medical emergencies or student fights without causing disruption to the rest of the building. Use these three words as a memory aid for remembering three clicks: "I [click]. Need [click]. Help [click]." You will know the alert went through when the badge responds with a short vibration. Continuously clicking the badge is for extreme emergencies and will result in a hard lockdown and large police presence, so use the badge responsibly.
How does the Centegix CrisisAlert badge work? Read more here...
Bus Simulators are Here!
The FCS Transportation Department welcomed Dr. Looney and other district leaders to a recent demonstration of their new bus driver training simulators. Dr. Looney sat in the driver's seat and marveled at how difficult it was to operate the bus while watching the road for upcoming hazards, calling the simulators "game-changers in helping our drivers gain more expertise and confidence."
How did he do on the road? Take a look here...

Graduation is Finally Here!
We can hear the band repeatedly playing "Pomp and Circumstance" as the graduates march down the aisles to take their respective places. Inspiring and encouraging speeches will fill the air as the faces of families and friends are full of smiles and joy. Congratulations to our amazing employees who helped make this accomplishment possible for our students.
FCS Serves Summer Meals
Hunger does not take a vacation! To meet the needs of our students and children in the community, the School Nutrition Program will continue to provide meals at locations across the county as part of its annual Summer Meals Program.
When schools let out for the summer, many children are at risk for hunger and malnutrition. The lack of nutrition during the summer months can result in poor performance once the school year begins and makes children more prone to illnesses and other health issues. The Summer Food Service Program is designed to fill that nutrition gap and make sure children can get the nutritious meals they need.
A listing of Fulton County School Nutrition Summer Meals locations and community mealtimes are available at www.fcsnutrition.com.
Soles 4 Souls Honored Teachers During Teachers Appreciation Week with a Free Shopping Event
Soles 4 Souls, a global nonprofit, partnered with Fulton County Schools to show our teachers just how much we appreciate them. On May 11, during Teacher Appreciation Week, the organization commended the exemplary service of 300 teachers with a free “shopping” event. Each teacher was able to choose items that were donated by high-end retail brands. Cindy Stroud, a social worker in the Office of Student Supports, coordinated the grant with Soles 4 Souls along with the McKinney-Vento team. What an amazing day...check out the pictures below!

FCS Celebrates National School Nurses Day
Lynne Meadows, director of District Health Services, and her awesome team of nurses, celebrated May 10 in a big way for National School Nurse Day. Since 1972, National School Nurse Day recognizes school nurses and fosters a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting. National Nurses Week was May 6-12. Fulton County Schools would like to thank our 17 school cluster nurses and our six special education nurses for all your hard work. We are also thankful for the clinic assistants, contract nurses who help to serve our medically fragile students, and case investigators. This team works diligently every day to ensure students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Team celebration pictures below:
The Warehouse “Fun Committee!”
The Warehouse department staff has started something new by organizing a “Fun Committee.” This committee meets every Thursday to plan and schedule events that staff would enjoy as well as show appreciation for jobs well done! Birthdays are also celebrated with cake and ice cream on the fun day.
For the month of April, the department celebrated birthdays with a lunch-in fish fry. Thank you Warehouse department; you know how to celebrate good times!
An Important Request from our Financial Services Division
If you have ever made a purchase for your school or the district using your personal wholesale club membership account, please make sure they have not permanently attached the FCS tax-exempt number to you. While specific use of the number is allowed for authorized purchases, we have reports of it being used regularly for personal purchases due to the wholesale club assigning that number to the account. To avoid any legal or financial problems, please verify and correct this as soon as possible!
